Quarterly Case Nominations – Region Three participates in the “National Quarterly Case Award” program. The program recognizes an outstanding case for “Patrol Dog” and “Detector Dog” for each quarter of the calendar year. A Region Three member in good standing may submit any cases in which they are involved with their canine partner. The case should be submitted on Department letterhead and signed by an Official of the Department. It should not be a copy of the police report but written in clear narrative format. The report should be double spaced. The case must be received by a member of the Region Three Executive Board prior to the “calling to order” of the general membership meeting:
First Quarter (January – March) – before April 5th
Second Quarter (April – June) – before July 5th
Third Quarter (July – September) – before October 5th
Fourth Quarter (October – December) – before January 5th
The Executive board will review all of the cases and choose the “Top Quarterly Case” in each category. If there is no significant or outstanding case, the Region may choose not to select a “Top Case.” The “Top Cases” will be sent to the National Office for consideration as “National Case of the Quarter.”
At the end of the calendar year, the Region will select a “Top Region Case of the Year” in each category. These two cases will receive a plaque for “Top Case of the Year.”
